The term "Black Friday" originates from the fact that it's generally the first time all year most businesses go from being in the red (or in debt) to being in the black (or profitable).

For all of you comic and junk food lovers out there, this about sums it up...

Today is small business day -- a nice concept but, in our opinion, not quite enough. The American economy is suffering through long periods of non-growth (for lack of a better term). Salaries have remained flat for years now and many jobs have been eliminated all together.

All across New Jersey, signs of remembrance could be found honoring those lost ten years earlier. From main street to front yards to major roadways, red, white, and blue was proudly displayed.

Time was when foods containing diet sweeteners were clearly marked as such. After all, why would any consumer want to ingest a diet substitute if they weren't dieting? More so when you consider the health risks associated with these diet substitutes.

Almost all of us are fond of overspending! We buy things we don't really need. Once we see something that catches our eyes, we automatically buy it - often without even thinking if we still have money or not.

The economy in a nutshell... Google buys Motorola. Think about it... a virtual business -- a simple search engine -- is wealthy enough to spend $12.5 billion to purchase a longstanding, successful company that manufactures actual physical goods.
